August 18, 2006, Newsletter Issue #20: HTML banner ads

Tip of the Week

An HTML banner ad uses a combination of HTML and images to create a banner ad that is interactive. Most publishers allow the use of HTML banner ads. In an HTML banner ad, you can include a form from your website, use dynamic dropdown lists, or simply gather peoples email addresses. Anything that can be done on a web page can be done in an HTML banner, as long as you work within the limits of the size of the banner and any technical specifications supplied by the publisher.
