January 12, 2007, Newsletter Issue #39: Font selection in Flash banner ads

Tip of the Week

When creating an animated banner ad in Macromedia Flash, you generally have a file size limitation to work within. Each font you use in Flash will increase the file size. Exotic fonts can increase the file size quite a bit. Select fonts with little overhead, and stick to just a couple of fonts per banner ad. This will keep file size down. When file size is tight, use just one font.
