February 16, 2007, Newsletter Issue #44: Adding audio to your Flash banner ads

Tip of the Week

In Macromedia Flash you can import audio directly into your Flash banner ad in mp3 format and still maintain a fairly small file size for the ad. Most banner ad publishers prefer that audio within a rich media banner ad is turned off until the user clicks on a sound button to turn it on. Add controls to your flash movie to allow the user to toggle on and off the sound and to replay the sound bite from the beginning. These controls can readily be found on the Internet or on Flash help sites.
