Rich media banner ads can be created with numerous different technologies, the primary one being Macromedia Flash. Flash enables streaming which enhances the appearance of a web ad by increasing the amount of animation possible within the limited file size of a web banner. Flash also allows for interactive features to be added to the banner, which separates Internet advertising from other forms of traditional advertising.
