AOL is notorious for having some of the strictest file size and looping restrictions on their banner ads. Their tactics are so aggressive they often render online advertising campaigns useless. Most AOL users are on dial up connections, so AOL is forced to limit the size of ads. They also limit the length of time the banners can animate. Ad campaigns run on AOL often under perform campaigns run on more lenient ad networks such as Yahoo and MSN.
